What is the open-League DB?

The here offered service represents an open database to enter and retrieve sports data , which fit in a League schema. The OpenLigaDB is primarily aimed at (hobby) programmer, which want to obtain automated in their applications or Web pages current soccer and other sports results. The interface particularly suitable for the implementation of review games, information pages, etc...

How does the data access work?

The data from the League database are exposed to the outside through a standardized interface - a XML Web service (SOAP)-. The URL of Web services is

http://www.OpenLigaDB.de/Webservices/Sportsdata.asmx

Different methods to retrieve the League info and game information available at this address. Depending on accessed role contains following information:
  • Date and time of the game
  • a grouping in e.g. matchdays
  • the names and an icon URL of playing teams
  • Result of the game (unless already updated, otherwise "-1")
  • Date of last update the game information
  • ...
Furthermore, each game is a unique ID to identify associated with.

Where do the data come from?

The OpenLigaDB is to understand community project. Everyone can free and easily register . Then an own League can be created and maintained. It helps but just when you enter the game results! Retrieve the data through the Web service requires no authentication. All entered leagues are available for everyone. For more detailed information there here at a glance.
